Dateline Dec 22th 2010: As 2010 comes to a close, Alan says a big thank you to everyone who has picked up on the A.S.S.R. series during its debut year

Dateline Dec 10th 2010: As part of the series’ DVD release, Alan Parsons made a series of in-store appearances with his Alan Parsons Live Project band, interleaving live performances of some of his classic tracks such as Eye In The Sky and Games People Play with a live interview and Q&A session with the audience.

Coinciding with the AES show in San Francisco, Alan performed at the Guitar Center location on Geary St. and was interviewed by the recently appointed editor of EQ Magazine, Sarah Jones.

The event was filmed by Guitar Center and ASSR producers KEYFAX NewMedia; excerpts from which will be posted on artandscienceofsound.com in December.

Later in the month Alan and his live band appeared at the Guitar Center in West Hollywood. The Session, filmed using a multi-camera shoot for Guitar Center’s Sessions Series, featured a live interview with famed LA DJ Jim Ladd (the last free form rock DJ in America) from LA’s classic rock station, KLOS. “I've seen a lot of videos in my life... I've never seen anything quite like this... quite as informative and at the same time, easy to watch. Just flat interesting,"said Jim.

More appearances and events are currently being planned for 2011.

The West Hollywood Sessions video is scheduled to go live on the Guitar Center website / Direct TV in Feb 2011.

The producers are pleased to introduce ASSR Education License.

ASSR Education License provides multi-student access to the material contained in The Art & Science Of Sound Recording, complete with tutor-access to a student's performance in Section Quizzes. The Quizzes have been widely recognized as powerful reinforcers of the knowledge contained in each Section.

The producers assess the program material as being suitable for all ages and skills levels at High School (aged 15+) and beyond. With the increased availability of media arts and technology courses at 2-year and 4-year colleges, plus the continued success of independent training centers and career schools, it has become increasingly important for standards to be available in digital audio recording practices.

From his early training at Abbey Road studios to a lifetime of groundbreaking audio achievements in the commercial world, Alan Parsons' commitment to audio excellence gives him the perfect credentials for establishing the benchmark for good working practices as are offered in the program.

Those who have registered at www.artandscienceofsound under 'Education' will be contacted directly by the series Education Director Michael Logue.

Those interested in receiving details of the full ASSR Education License should contact Michael Logue at mjlogue@artandscienceofsound.com or, through KEYFAX NewMedia on 1-800-752-2780.
