What do you think about the "virtual analog" (VA) synthesizer technology? (where I mean of course keyboards based on DSP chips emulating the 70s analog electronic circuits - hence reproducing, at least partly, the "warm" analog sound). Said that of course a modern keyboard, compared to a vintage instrument, is stable against detuning and less delicate, do you think virtual analog is 100% faithful? Do you think there are brands better than others?

Virtual Synths

Hi Giorgio,

I have no real opinion about this but I have had a lot of luck with virtual synths. Rather than dwell on how close each synth is to the original I would ask myself does it work? Do I like it? If not, use something else.

You are certainly right about tuning and stability issues.
