I, like many other APP fans, was unable to attend the MCTS in LA. It would have been an exceptional event but the resulting divorce proceedings (as my wife succinctly pointed out), had I forced the issue, would have caused more pain and suffering than I desired.
As I read the description of the event, it was stated that the recordings would be for a new album. Obviously a lot of post-production has to go into a future album ... but is there any suggestion as to a theoretical release date for the works compiled last weekend?
Also, will each MCTS session be detailed around a completely new set of project music or will it be one set of music that is recorded by various artists from around the world at different venues for acoustic effect?

Hello there,
Exceptional though the recent two-day MCTS was, we'd prefer that only people's 'musical' lives are changed by these events. A wise move to stay home.
I don't believe we have stated that material recorded at these master classes is for a new album as such but simply that they are new songs and new recordings. In time, obviously, that could and might happen but there are no plans in place right now. All Our Yesterdays, recorded for the Art And Science Of Sound Recording series, was/is released on iTunes of course.
As for the content itself, right now we are taking a more organic approach with each individual event having its own character, style, content, and cast. We're even looking at recording a symphony orchestra later in the year.
People do seem to be enjoying the basic MCTS concept and since these master classes are being held all over the world and at many different price points and skill levels we hope we can look forward to seeing you at one in the future.
This is what got me tap-dancing ... in my chair ... "Los Angeles MCTS: July 22-23, 2011
A select group of attendees will join multi-Platinum engineer, producer and artist Alan Parsons and the crème de la crème of LA’s session musicians at the legendary Village Studios in Los Angeles for the making of a new record." <--- (Unless that meant only the single.)
So do we get to hold you to that "wink, wink, nudge, nudge"?
Thank you for the response and I have already listened to 'All Our Yesterdays' enough times to get my co-workers interested enough that they took my speakers ... unless there was a alternate motive.
The line-up at the LA MCTS was awe-inspiring so if you do combine enough material, those of us who have not had the occasion to experience the course first-hand, would, I am sure, be quite interested in hearing a polished album ... even an 'On-Air' style composition with a MCTS polished CD of music and an included CD / DVD of rough takes (out takes are always a bonus) and how they were mastered through the MCTS course to show progression of a recording from raw to album ready.
I was able to convince my wife that I should at least be able to get the DVD set of the course. She hasn't authorized the money yet but I'll get her flowers and take her to dinner as a start.
Thanks,
DSRobbi
